Not tallying the balance sheet in tally software

15 October 2009 please tell me the reason of not tallying the balance sheet other than those of difference in opening balance in TALLY SOFTWARE....

it is showing different amounts in total assets and total liability...

16 October 2009 You should check opening balances carried forward.
basically closing stock.

16 October 2009 No..not because of the difference in opening balance..that i have mentioned before itself...

if there is op. bal. difference, it will show in TALLY balance sheet as separately and total figure of assets and total of liability will be an equal amount....
but here the case is two different amounts are showing in each side of the bal. sheet

16 October 2009 there is grouping mismach
if your profit for the year is maching then go ahed. dont take tention. its ok. now all balance is ok.

if profit is not maching it meens there is error in closing stock or provision or debtors or creditors etc.all balance sheet SCHEDULE to be check.

19 October 2009 apart from opening balance difference, there could one more reason for difference in balance sheet. The data might have corrupted. I also came accross the same situation, rewrite tally accounts, Ctrl+Alt+r at main menu of tally. A file automatically generates at tally folder having extension as .rew, if there is any entries corrupted, it will show the date.
