I am salaried employee, and TDS on salary is already deducted and paid to Govt. I missed filing of Income Tax Return for AY 2009-2010. As per calculation I am eligible for refund of around 2000 INR.
I am confused with wordings of Section 139(1) and Section 271 F of Income Tax.
Can anyone please help me as to what is the implication i.e penalty if I file Income Tax return now.
What if I donot file Income Tax return of that year but have filed of AY 2010-1011.

04 September 2011 You can file the return as already TDS is deducted. Please file the return online and you will get the return soon.
No need to pay any penalty and fine etc.

04 September 2011 I did try to file online it showed error message stating date of 31st March 2011 is already gone.
Any other way u can suggest.
I am more interested in knowing implication and also what If I donot file return?

06 September 2011 For the assessment year 2009-10 the department will not accept online filing of return. So you prepare your return and file it physically.
