Is gstin mandatory ????

11 February 2019 Dear Sir,
We have two Branches one is Delhi & another in U.P. and having separate-separate GSTIN for U.P. & Delhi. But i hear that two or more branches can include in one GST Number means one GST number for both branches?? Is this right or wrong ?? Please explain.

11 February 2019 There is no such provision under GST saying two or more branches of different state can be included in one GSTIN. However, in cases where two or more branches are located in same state, then the same can be included in single GSTIN.
