Dear All,

My query is when a partnership firm is converted into a private limited company, should new number be taken or we can apply for name chage in the old exisiting numbers in case of the following:

1) PAN.
2) Sales Tax Registration.
3) Vat Registration.
4) IEC Number.

22 November 2007 A Private limited company is a separate legal entity ......you have to take apply for a new PAN.

22 November 2007 WE NEED TO INFORM ALL STATE OR CENTRAL GOVT. OR OTHER AGENCIES WITH WHOM WE ARE PRESENTLY REGISTERED, ABOUT THE CHANGE IN THE CONSTITUTION OF THE PRESENT BUSINESS ALONG WITH A COPY OF ROC CERTIFICATE OF INCOPORATION IF YOU ALREADY GOT IN YOUR HAND.
my experience is you will get a new number allotted in each of these registrations.
IN THE SAME LETTER YOU MAY ASK ALL agencies TO INFORM THE NEW REGISTRATION NUMBER IF ANY APPLICABLE.
EACH ACT HAS DIFFERENT REQUIREMENTS ABOUT CHANGE IN THE CONSTITUTION OF BUSINESS,ABOUT WHICH YOU MUST INFORM THEM IMMDTLY .
