Is it true that the task of the processing of Income Tax Refunds has been shifted to Bangalore by the I-T Dep. ? My friend has 7 Income Tax files of his family & for A.Y. 2009-10 , they filed their returns around 28/7/09 .Most of them were having Refund Claims since Tax Payable by them was going into negative after calculating TDS deducted . By when can they expect to receive the Refund Orders (Refund Cheques) for that year (A.Y. 09-10) ?

The processing of Income Tax Refunds has been shifted to Bangalore by the I-T Dept in respect of returns efilied during the previous year and most of the returns have been processed and most of them who have filed return in time last year have received refunds by now also.
