Importance of form 16

Hi friends,
Actually i want to ask is it complsary to have a form 16 to get loan or can i get loan by presenting my form 26AS which i downloaded from income tax site. Actually the bank wants last 3 years form 16 but i don't have one form 16 of one of the 3 years ?
please suggest me

You can give them your Income Tax return for that period, or else you can ask your employer for it. It is compulsory on behalf of the employer to give it..
And banks doesn't accept your 26AS if i am not wrong.
