How to change name in belated itr

09 May 2013 hello! i have filed itr-4s belated for a/y 2012-13 but by mistake in name column(in excel utility tax paid & verification page) there is a mistake & dats why itr-V came with mistaken name and i knw belated return can't be revised..so wat should i do to rectify name ?? tell me experts pls procedure to rectify

10 May 2013 File a letter for rectification with your jurisdictional AO u/s. 154 even if it is belated return. AO has power to do it u/s.154 r.w.s 143(1) because ITRV in certain circumstances is considered as deemed intimation, which is eligible for rectification u/s.154. Thus, the intimation or Assessment Order will be issued in the new correct name.
