09 August 2013 There are several types of exemption like, general exemption, conditional exemption, area based exemption, institution exemption, Exemption thro notification, export oriented/SEZ exemption.....etc.,

Kindly refer excise manual for more details. If your products are exempted there is no requirement of filing ER-1.
