11 October 2011 DEAR SIR
KINDLY GAVE ME THE TOTAL PROCEDURE OF EPF & ESIC CONTRIBUTED BETWEEN EMPLOYER AND EMPLOYEE. WHAT IS THE PERCENTAGE OF EPF & ESIC CONTRIBUTED THEM. IS THE AMOUNT DEDUCT FROM GOSS PAY OF NET PAY ?

11 October 2011 EPF -
Employee Contribution 12% of Basic+DA
Employer Contribution Equal to Employees Contribution + EDLI & other charges (i.e. 1.10% + 0.05% + 0.01% of wages paid)

Employee Contribution 1.75% of gross wages
Employer Contribution 4.75% of gross wages

11 October 2011 To add to the reply of Mr.Sharma,
Pl. note that contribution @12% is subject to ceiling of Rs.6500 ionly higher contribution by both employer and employee is optional.

Moreover, if the employee joined in a firm where he has not been a member of PF earlier he at the option need not contribute at either side.

Regarding ESI the ceiling limit it is Rs.15000 per month. anything more than Rs.15000 (gross) is not covered under ESI

But for casual labour and contract labour there is an altrnate option.

Will supply more information upon the specific questions.
