Steps to Download Form 16A from TRACES
Step 1: Login to TRACES
Visit the TRACES portal and log in as a deductor using TAN credentials.
Step 2: Open Form 16A Download Section
Navigate to:
Downloads → Form 16A
Step 3: Select Required Details

- Financial Year
- Quarter
- Form Type (26Q/27Q)
You may choose single PAN download or bulk PAN download.
Step 4: Complete KYC Validation
Validation can be completed through:
- DSC-based KYC, or
- Normal KYC using token number and challan details
Step 5: Submit Download Request
After successful validation, submit the request and note the generated request number.
Step 6: Check Download Status
Go to: **Downloads → Requested Downloads
Once the status changes from “Submitted” to “Available,” the file can be downloaded.
Step 7: Generate PDF Certificates
The downloaded ZIP file must be converted into PDF format using the TRACES PDF Generation Utility. The generated PDFs are the final valid Form 16A certificates that should be shared with deductees.
