Many taxpayers face an 'Internal Validation Error' when filing their Income Tax Return (ITR), often linked to bank account details. This error can occur due to mismatches in email IDs or names between your bank account and the tax portal, or issues with account pre-validation. To resolve it, ensure your bank account details on the portal match your bank records, select the correct 'Type of Account' (Savings or Current), and nominate a pre-validated account for refunds. If an account consistently shows errors, consider closing it or selecting another fully validated account.
