UPSC isn't something one should select or pursue because it's agreeable or has a lot of social clout. Both CA and UPSC are completely different. While the study of Chartered Accountancy provides you with extensive financial expertise and helps you master it, UPSC requires comprehensive knowledge, and one ends up getting employed in the government sector. Whether one is a CA or something else, one should only apply for UPSC if their ultimate goal and vision are compatible with it.

Is UPSC a good idea after becoming a CA

To appear for the UPSC exam, one is expected to at least be a graduate. It doesn't matter what field in, whether it's BA, B.Sc., BE, B.Tech, MBBS, or something else. The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has written a letter to the Ministry of Corporate Affairs of the Government of India, requesting their assistance in designating Chartered Accountancy qualifications as equivalent to Post-graduation and CA-Intermediate to be treated as equivalent to a Graduate Degree in the University education system. Now, as a result, after passing CA Intermediate, one will be considered a graduate. And since after graduation, one can apply for UPSC, after becoming a semi-qualified Chartered Accountant, they will be eligible for UPSC.

Also, if one has happened to have finished the coursework required to become a CA, they already possess a significant amount of the knowledge required to pass UPSC.

Now, after passing the CA finals, how should one prepare for the UPSC exam?

To begin, be mindful and admit the fact that it's going to be a long road as it takes at least a year to prepare for and another year to sit for the exam.

Next, familiarise yourself with the exam pattern by reviewing the syllabus and previous years' question papers, as well as watching toppers' interviews. One should be aware of the fact that the syllabus of paper-1 is thoroughly covered in the course of Chartered Accountancy whereas, the syllabus for paper-2 is completely new. So, The only way to clear the exam with a good score is to keep revising and taking multiple mock tests.

This test necessitates patience, perseverance, and internal motivation in addition to hard and smart work.

Following their qualification, several Chartered Accountants have been known to have passed the UPSC exam and, with the right amount of effort and dedication, you can too. One just needs to be sure that this is exactly what they desire to do.
