Sir, I am a Authorised delear (Mulund;Mumbai) of engineering goods on which 12.5% VAT is chargeable, The Manufacturer from which we Purcase is situated in Coimbatore; I need your help inrespect of a interstate transaction: We are purchasing from Manu.. to be sold to a party From Thane; and he intends to sell it to a party in coimbatore.. for the purpose of ease in admin the goods are moved directly to the end consumer instead of moving thru us.. The manufacturer has charged 12.5% of VAT explaining that the movement of Goods is within state!!! Is his stand right..?? Will i be able to take setoff is i pay VAT to him?? If He's incorrect den how should the transaction and Duties must be charged and under which declaration?? Thanks in Advance!!
