Stipend Payable to Articled Clerks
By a notification dated 6.6.2006 ICAI has revised the amount of stipend payable to Articled Clerks w.e.f. 1.7.2006. The revised rates are as under.
(a) An Articled Clerk who has passed PE - II and has also completed computer training programme will be entitled to receive the following minimum monthly stipend w.e.f. 1.7.2006.
Classification of the normal
Place of service of the articled clerk
(1) During the first year of training
(2) During the second year of training
(3) During the remaining period of training
(4) (i) Cities/towns having a population of twenty lakhs and above

(ii) Cities/towns having a population of four lakhs and above but less than twenty lakhs.

(iii) Cities/towns having a population of less than four lakhs

(b) An Articled Clerk who has passed the Foundation Examination and registered upto 30.6.2004 or passed the Graduation Examination and registered upto 30.9.2001 will be entitled to receive the following minimum monthly stipend w.e.f. 1.7.2006.

(c) Notwithstanding anything contained in clause (a) or (b), an articled clerk on his passing the Professional Education (Examination - II) under the C.A. Regulations, shall be eligible for a minimum monthly stipend at the rates specified in (a) above from the first day of the month following the date of declaration of the result of the said examination, depending on where the normal place of service of the articled clerk is situated.
