I was standing place to meet a Principal friend of mine and that was a CA Final examination centre.
Curiously, I saw, observed that quite a good number of were with print outs of caclubindia articles and it flattered me to find that the summary of case laws I made was one of the printouts. It was a child like euphoria, what has been just patted by his parents on the back.
Now that the examinations are over Retrieve your life. Forget all those doomsday prophets who have already started reminding you of May 2011 examination. This jobs is best done by the ICAI, let her mind her business.
REMIND EVERY DAY THAT YOU ARE GOING TO MAKE IT THIS TIME.
Take a well-deserved holiday (Bunk your office for a couple of days!!! There is no law against bunking and if there is one, that is unconstitutional!!!
This is the time to rejuvenate and recharge to meet the better and bigger challenges of life.
Don’t self- assess your performance. It is examiner’s job – leave it to him.
Those of you who reasonably feel they have not done well – it is the time to think of alternative routes. In Mumbai, some of the page 3 consultants are CA failures and now CAs go to them for consultation or for job !! I am sure it will be true of other cities as well.
Those who think it is the time to possess coveted CA certificate in hand –think of some add-on .Particularly if you want to go for a job.
I am a CA myself and I am not happy to say this – grab a MBA degree from the nearest street corner institute. CA MBA is a lethal combo - CS is another better option. Unlike CA this courses don’t suck your blood away – don’t take much time and are by and large student friendly.
If you are 24 Plus think of settling your life with or without CA – success in life very often has inverse relationship to success in examinations. Many CAs survive on signing the audits of ITPS.
Don/t make therefore the issue of exam success a matter of life and death priority. However you can use the time to settle your life otherwise !!
There are about 1.5 lakh CAs, nearly evenly Associates and Fellows/ Almost 90% Associates are in job- in last 5 years only five odd thousand CAs were added to practice in a country with 1/5 billion people . So rest of the practice area is filled by those who did not pass CA.so also the case of jobs.
I wrote to the President ICAI and Council members- that top finance jobs go to MBAs and not pure CAS-may be CA MBAS. Secretarial jobs go to CS ( CS LLB a very consumer friendly career recipe) – teaching jobs have been thrown open by UGS for CAS/CS/ICWA. Therefore if the results are moderated to regulate the supply of CAS as is rumoured , you are handing over on platters an area CAs rightfully can claim to be in their exclusive domains . This was the reason that he CA results were improved 4-5 years ago almost touching 30 % marks. I wonder suddenly the results have come down from thirty to three. Who says a zero does not make any effect?
