Every year, in March, June, September and December, there are four exam dates for the ACCA exam.

A candidate must do the following to get qualified as an ACCA member:

  • Clearing 13 exams (candidates can get 9 paper exemptions, but it just depends on their previous qualifications).
  • At least 36 months duration of experience in a relevant role is a must that can be obtained prior to, during or along with the completion of their qualifications.

ACCA eligibility Criteria

Below are the basic requirements for eligibility that the exam authorities have set to pursue ACCA:

  • A student must have scored 65% aggregate in English and mathematics/accounting and at least 50% in other subjects in the 12th exam.
  • To be eligible for the ACCA certification exam, a ACCA foundation diploma needs to be completed by those students who have just passed 10th grade or do not meet the above requirement.

ACCA exemptions

Eligible candidates can get several exemptions from the ACCA exams based on their qualifications:

  • Class 12 students need not take the Foundational Diploma Course.
  • Bcom and Mcom students are not required to take the business law and corporate exams at the skill level or ACCA exams of knowledge level such as MA, FA or BT.
  • For Chartered Accountancy holders, 9 out of 13 exams that cover both knowledge and skill level examinations are exempt. They only need to pass four exams at the professional level
  • Only eight exams need to be passed for CA Inter students, excluding- management accounting, financial accounting, business and technology, taxation, auditing and assurance.
