The ICAI President stresses the importance of embracing new tools and technologies to empower the Chartered Accountant profession in the face of global changes.
The theme for WCOA 2022, held in Mumbai, is 'Building Trust, Enabling Sustainability'.
The ICAI has held meetings with SEBI, RBI, the Comptroller and Auditor General of India, and the Union Minister of State for Finance. They have also signed MoUs with CA Maldives, CBFS Oman, NIRD&PR, and IIM Lucknow Enterprise Incubation Centre, and met with officials from ICAEW.
The revised scheme of education and training, incorporating international best practices and the National Education Policy 2020, has been approved by the ICAI Council and submitted to the Ministry of Corporate Affairs for approval.
The CABF has provided significant financial assistance during the Covid pandemic. The President appeals to members to become life members or contribute voluntarily to financially consolidate the fund for future support.
The ICAI is focusing on areas such as sustainability reporting, social auditing, digital technology adoption, forensic accounting, valuation standards, and capacity building for startups and rural development initiatives.
