As of February 24, 2021, the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana (PMJDY) has successfully opened 41.93 crore accounts across India. This significant milestone was announced by Union Minister of State for Finance & Corporate Affairs, Shri Anurag Singh Thakur. The scheme is part of a larger relief package aimed at supporting vulnerable populations during the COVID-19 pandemic.
As informed by banks, as on 24.02.2021, 41.93 crore accounts have been opened under Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana (PMJDY). State-wise number of accounts under PMJDY as on 24.02.2021 is atAnnexure.
