Important News for CA Final Passout

Thank you Sir.... But no information about this in ICAI site yet....? MY GMCS batch starts on March 11th... I think it will end by March end... Is it possible to apply for membership pending GMCS...?

There is no much clarity on the exam pattern but better to apply for Membership as soon as possible. In any case this is gonna help us in future.

I did it as soon as i cleared my CA Final & Articleship.

I got this info from one of my friend who got this info from a Partner of CA firm. ICAI is now a days doing lot of efforts to encourage students to apply for membership.

Eligibility Criteria

The applicant should have:

(a) Completed the prescribed period of 3 years / 3 years and 6 months articled training or 4 Years and 6 months audit training as applicable;

(b) Passed the C.A. Final Examination Both Groups;

(c) Undergone course on General Management and Communication skills. (Applicable to candidates passing of Both Groups of Final C.A. Examination held in May 2003 and thereafter.)

(d) Should not posses any of the following disabilities:

(i) Not attained the age of 21 years.

(ii) Unsound mind and stands so adjudged by a Competent Court.

(iii) Undischarged insolvent.

(iv) Being discharged insolvent, has not obtained from the Court a certificate that his insolvency was caused by misfortune without any misconduct on his part.

(v) Convicted by a Competent Court, of an offence involving moral turpitude committed by him in his professional capacity unless pardoned or the Central Government has removed the disability.

So the answer to your query is NO.

another exm for becoming member of ICAI, surprise news.

I had an interaction with the President, ICAI, Mr. Uttam Prakash Agarwal yesterday on this issue when he visited my city for inauguration of Branch of ICAI. He made it clear that ICAI is surely gonna introduce one additional exam for students who have qualified the final exams but had not opted for membership yet. However, he said that such requirement of additional exam will be applicable to those who do not opt for membership for a period of 3(THREE) years after passing their finals & becoming eligible for membership. So I think we should wait for the proper notification in this regard. 

Mr. Somani, i don't think ICAI would announce this sort of statement. Please confirm your source.
