PM Modi on Tuesday 30th December 2025, met economists and sector experts to discuss ideas for the Union Budget 2026-27. The meeting began at 11am, attended by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and NITI Aayog officials, focused on reforms for India's growth by 2047.

Economists' Inputs

Experts suggested boosting productivity in manufacturing and services through higher savings, infrastructure, and AI adoption. They also discussed expanding Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI).

 

Budget Context

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will present the budget on 1st February 2026, amid global challenges like US tariffs. Focus areas include healthcare, education, AI, and making India a services powerhouse.
