On Your Mark, Get set, Go !!

At the outset, I take this opportunity to congratulate everyone who cleared their CA Final and CPT examinations.

This article is written for fresh, new, enthusiastic, excited and proud students who cleared their CA Final examinations and have now entered our CA fraternity. Welcome everyone!!

I am sure you all must be elated after achieving this incredible feat. The prestigious prefix “Chartered Accountant” has been attached to your name. The feeling is amazing. Our parents are happier than us. There is nothing in the world which can give us more satisfaction than seeing joy and happiness in our parents’ eyes and knowing that we are the reason behind it.

Amidst all this, let me inform you, this is your first step to success. Life has just begun; ICAI has raised the curtains and given us a head start to enter this world in a style. The day we become CA is equally important as our birthday!!

After clearing final exams, most of us are unsure about what we actually want to do. A question time and again comes in our mind – “Okay, I am a Chartered Accountant now, so what next?” Sadly, majority of us don’t have an answer to this. Being a CA, we have many avenues in front of us and this in fact makes things more complicated.  

We end up taking a wrong decision and do something which we don’t like. Now, another important question arises – What to do we like to do?

The question appears to be simple, but friends it is not as simple as it seems.

Today, ask yourself,

What do I really like?

Where do I want to see myself five years hence? and

What do I want to do for my parents?

Answer to these three questions will help you achieve your goals on time. So, take some time out for introspection and understand yourself and your needs before jumping on to a decision. This time is very critical for you all. The first job we take up usually sets the base for future. If the base itself is not of our liking, then the building can never sustain for long.

To summarize, we all should understand what we want and only then decide the route to achieve it.
