Little by little

Quick Summary
In today's fast-paced world, instant success is often desired, but the true power lies in taking small, consistent steps. By breaking down goals into manageable units and persevering, even daunting tasks become achievable. This approach applies to financial planning, habit formation, and personal development, proving that little by little, significant progress can be made.

We are living in an era of cut-throat competition and our insecurities and impatience has made it even tougher for us to survive. We want everything here and now instantly. We want success instantly, we want to become rich instantly, we want name and fame instantly, but we have forgotten the value of little steps.

Few years ago I was working as a finance manager in a company. The  MD over there used to keep 10% of this revenue in a separate account. No payment was allowed to be made from that account. Eventually, when the crisis struck his business, he had enough funds in his kitty to survive it. I learnt a very important lesson that day,

The Power of Little Steps: Achieve Big Goals

Keep atleast 10% of your funds in a separate account and suddenly after 10 months you would save your one month's revenue/income.

Imagine having a loan of 10 lacs on your head and paying 5,000 pm extra towards your liability apart from regular EMIs. You will be able to pay 1.20 lacs principal repayment within two years.and reduce your loan and EMI/ tenure accordingly. 5,000 pm won't sound too big initially but eventually, it will become big.

If You want to save, start a SIP of 1,000-1500 pm and you will be able to save 12-20k in a year and will get an adequate return on your investment too.

If you want to start a habit of reading, start with reading atleast 10 pages and within 15-20 days you will be able to finish one book. You want to focus on your health, start with working out for 15-20 minutes.

Doing something in smaller quantities is much better than dreaming and procrastinating and wasting your time.

If you want to start a habit of writing, start with writing atleast a page or two daily. Eventually, you will end up writing 30-50 pages in a month.

This is the value of small steps which we ignore as we are more concerned about becoming an instant success that doesn't happen overnight.

Divide your work into smaller units and be persistent about doing it and suddenly work which looked like a mountain initially would look very easy.

Consistency and persistence is the key to achieving anything big. So don't ignore the little efforts or little things in your life.

Little by little things will become big.
