FAQ :

The deadline for filing Income Tax Returns (ITR) for taxpayers requiring an audit has been extended to November 15, 2024.

This extension applies to taxpayers who are required to undergo tax audits, as specified in clause (a) of Explanation 2 to sub-section (1) of section 139.

The original deadline for filing ITR for taxpayers requiring an audit was October 31, 2024.

The CBDT used its powers under section 119 of the Act to grant this extension.

For the Financial Year 2022-23 (AY 23-24), there was no extension. For the Financial Year 2021-22 (AY 22-23), there was a 7-day extension due to e-filing portal issues.
