SBI Credit Card Rule Changes
From 1st September 2025, those who have SBI credit card such as Lifestyle Home Centre cards, Select and Prime will not receive reward points on digital gaming and government-related transactions.
A 2% penalty will now be levied if auto-debit or international transactions fail.
Increased charges on fuel purchases or online shopping.

Indian Post Services Merger
Registered Post services will be merged with Speed Post services w.e.f 1st September 2025 for simplifying both systems.
Benefits
Speed post with registration now will help to deliver only to the specified addressee, which will serve as legal proof and be valid in courts and for government services.
This change combines tracking accuracy and legal validity, offering faster delivery and better service.
Special FD Offers Ending for Two Banks
Indian Bank and IDBI Bank will going to discontinue special high-interest FDs after 30th September 2025.
FD Rates For Indian Banks
- For 444 Days - Interest rates are 6.7% for individuals, 7.2% for senior citizens and 7.45% for super senior citizens.
- For 555 Days - Interest rates are 6.6% for individuals, 7.1% for senior citizens and 7.35% for super senior citizens.
FD Rates For IDBI Banks
- For 444 Days - Interest rates are 6.7% for general/NRE/NRO, 7.2% for senior citizens.
- For 555 Days - Interest rates are 6.75% for general/NRE/NRO, 7.25% for senior citizens.
- For 700 Days - Interest rates are 6.6% for general/NRE/NRO, 7.10% for senior citizens.
Jan Dhan Account KYC Requirement
All Jan Dhan account holders must renew their KYC by 30th September 2025.
Failure to update KYC will restrict the account - no withdrawals, government subsidies or other banking services permitted.
LPG Price Announcement
From September 1, 2025, the price of the 19 kg commercial LPG cylinder was reduced by Rs 51.5, while the price of the 14.2 kg domestic LPG cylinder remained unchanged.
NPS to Unified Pension Scheme Switch
If you are a Central government employee who has enrolled in the NPS can switch to new Unified Pension Scheme by 30th September 2025.
This is the extended deadline, previously set for June 30, 2025, for those who wish to opt out of NPS.
Aadhar Card Free Update Last Date
If you need to update any details in Aadhaar, you can update your Aadhaar details free of cost till 14th September 2024.

Silver Jewellery Hallmarking Rule
New guidelines from 1st September 2025 for voluntary hallmarking of silver jewellery will be implemented.
BIS issued guidelines for six purity grades of silver jewellery - 900, 800, 835, 925, 970 and 990 purity levels - to be hallmarked with a unique six-digit hallmark Unique Identification Number.
This hallmarking is not mandatory but provides legal and purity assurance to consumers, similar to gold.
ATM Withdrawal Charges Update
From September 1, 2025, new rules will apply in some banks.
If monthly free withdrawal limits are exceeded, additional charges will apply.
This move is intended to promote digital payments for convenience and cost-saving.
