FAQ :

This scheme allows migrant workers, construction workers, and others to claim their entitled rations from any fair price shop across the country, providing greater flexibility and support.

The portal for unorganised labour, including gig, platform, and migrant workers, is scheduled to be rolled out by May/June 2021 for registration and other services.

Enrolled workers will receive an incentive of free coverage for one year for accidental and disability cover under the Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bhima Yojana (PMSBY).

The rule-making process for the four labour codes – Code on Wages, Industrial Relations, Occupational Safety, Health and Working Conditions, and Social Security Codes – is underway and expected to be completed soon, allowing them to be brought into force.

The interest earned on employee contributions to Provident Funds exceeding Rs 2.5 lakhs annually will now be taxable, aiming to prevent misuse by high-net-worth individuals.
