New GSTIN reallocated to taxpayers of Union Territory of Ladakh

Taxpayers in the Union Territory of Ladakh who were previously registered under Jammu & Kashmir will now be allocated new GSTINs. These new numbers, with the UT code '38', replace old ones for businesses located in Ladakh. New GSTINs are reallocated to active existing taxpayers registered under J & K State earlier with State code(01), having Principal Place of Business in jurisdiction of Union territory of Ladakh (with UT code “38”). The list contains new GSTINs along with old GSTINs. Taxpayers are requested to use new GSTINs while generating the invoices and receiving of supplies etc. w.e.f. 1st Jan 2020.

FAQ :

Active existing taxpayers registered under the J&K State (with State code 01) who have their principal place of business in the Union Territory of Ladakh (with UT code 38) are affected.

Taxpayers are requested to use their new GSTINs for generating invoices and receiving supplies effective from January 1st, 2020.

The list of new GSTINs along with the old GSTINs has been provided to the affected taxpayers.

You should stop using your old GSTIN and start using the newly allocated GSTIN for all your business transactions from January 1st, 2020.
