The Ministry of Finance has disbursed a monthly Post Devolution Revenue Deficit (PDRD) Grant of Rs. 9,871 crore to 17 states. This marks the tenth instalment of the grant in the current financial year, bringing the total released to Rs. 98,710 crore. A total of Rs. 9,871 crore has been released as a monthly Post Devolution Revenue Deficit (PDRD) Grant to 17 states. This is the tenth instalment for the current financial year, bringing the total released so far to Rs. 98,710 crore.
The Post Devolution Revenue Deficit Grants are provided to the States under Article 275 of the Constitution.
The grants are released as per the recommendations of the Fifteenth Finance Commission.
The grants are intended to meet the gap in the Revenue Accounts of the States after the devolution of taxes.
Seventeen states have been recommended to receive Post Devolution Revenue Deficit Grants by the Fifteenth Finance Commission.
The Fifteenth Finance Commission recommended a total Post Devolution Revenue Deficit Grant of Rs. 1,18,452 crore to 17 States for the financial year 2021-22.
