The Ministry of Finance has released ₹1154.90 crore to four states for Urban Local Bodies.

Andhra Pradesh (₹225.60 crore), Bihar (₹769 crore), Gujarat (₹165.30 crore), and Sikkim (₹5 crore) received the grants.

A total grant of ₹9,172.63 crore has been released to Urban Local Bodies so far in the 2021-22 financial year.

These grants are meant for Non-Million Plus cities (NMPCs) including Cantonment Boards.

The grants are divided into 40% basic (untied) grants and 60% tied grants. Tied grants are further split, with 50% for sanitation and solid waste management, and 50% for drinking water, rainwater harvesting, and water recycling.
