Chartered Accountant Killed on Duty

We inform with grief that our professional brother CA Rajesh Rattan Goyal, 37, was stabbed to death in his office in Chandigarh on 22nd May 2007. It is highly suspected that he was murdered for his vigilance and ethical conduct while performing his professional duties for a client. CA. Goyal, who was sole bread earner for his family, is survived by his wife and two school going children. The offices of about 600 Chartered Accountants remained closed in Chandigarh on May 24 in protest against the murder and a resolution has been passed to extend financial aid to the bereaved family. The CA community offers its condolences to the family of the deceased CA, condemns the murder and demands speedy investigations and trial of the killers
