hey shashank,

i thinnk in todays world people want dikhava only. There r many CA`s who never been to office. They don know ABC of audit,tax...They r full time dummy ppl..So naturaly they get enough time to clear in first attempt, and to our tuogh luck they easily get selected also.

I completely agree with u shashank..Sometimes,these companies say if u`ve cleared in more than 2 attempt don even apply for the job..This is totaly unfair man..The real talent gets neglected..

Are bhai log..Why so much CRY over JOB JOB..CAMPUS ?

naukar giri  not compulsory yaar..

PARLIAMENT (C A Act 1949) gives you authority to certify balance sheet

so much valued is your signature that...law enforcing agencies and many

others beleive TRUE only if you (CA) signs.

NO CAMPUS / NO REQUIRETORS REQUIRED, LET THE INDUSTRY PREPARE ACCOUNTS

they will come before you, for authentication of even there report card....

ha ha ha

absolutely right!!..Mr. Ravi
What is more important than passing CA and have a lifelong reputation. No one cares about attempts.

Knowledge is crucial and more importantly your dedication. You aspire to become CA and deliver your services to the Firm/Company or Industry.

Here, one point regarding why Mr. Y got selected over Mr. X, for a better package is not solely because of number of attempts but companies also recruit depending upon several other factors, namely,

  1. Mr. Y may be young and dynamic in attitude over Mr. X
  2. Specialisation that any one excels better off
  3. Single/Married???
  4. Logical understanding when comes to tough times

and many more.. and these no one can judge on phone or campus placements, there is a system rapidly growing in other professional areas after MBA and Orientations For Communication and Group Discussion skills of the Candidate which is equally important with Practical knowledge.

Hello Friends,

I would also like to share my experience. I have passed both groups of CA Final & CA PE-2 in first attempt but I have not been selected by any company and the reason was , I do not have good

communication skills.

I could not crack GD of any company in Campus Placement held in Mar. 2010.

So what matters is Communication Skills, that's why GD is conducted before personal interview.

No Doubt attempts does matter but not in long run... In long Run, its ur own talent that take u upwards....

I cant blame Companies if they consider no. of attempts of a student.....There are numerous job applications which a company gets.....They have to adopt some criterion to short list candidates and No. of attempts is one among those criterions.......I dont think it is practically feasible for Companies to interview each and every Student.......

But honestly telling you, higher no. of attempts may put one at a disadvantage to others but that doesn't mean that life becomes a cakewalk for others who have cleared it in fewer attempts..........Companies are not going to recruit just a bookworm student......Thats i can say atleast for Big 4 and other well known Companies.......Fewer attempts might help to get an interview call but thats not enough.....There is a lengthy, hard Interview procedure which one has to go through.......My Friends are living examples of that......I can say by their experiences that in long run, its your talent that counts........

Another thing to add that its not just CA results that is cosidered by many but your overall performace till date (right from 12th to Graduation to CA) that matters......So dont lose hope......

Its all about believing in urself............So instead of losing motivation just because few didn't make it(and i am really sorry for those unlucky ones), try instead to look upto those who have made it big despite clearing CA in much higher attempts..... I am sure u would get various such examples.......I have myself got few friends who have achieved a lot despite struggling in CA Final......There have been others who haven't succeed...... The differece was all about their attitude towards Life.....

Hey guys. Why follow the same path? Why follow tjhe herd?

Opt for practice. Try your talents in the open world. Prove yourself & show the world what u r capable of.

True that in practice u won't get any returns for 1st 5 yrs. But once u managed to establish yourself then u can relax. Moreover in practice your income will drastically increase. Whereas if u opt for employment though u ll be well settled u ll just have a dull, boring & routine life.

Higher no. of attempts may put one at a disadvantage to others!!!

Why should one get dishearten at just number of attempts?? What about the popular phrase CA is evergreen??

CA is within the reach of the commons and have potential to shine bright and place a difference. Passing CA may be not that tough as much what begins after clearing CA.

Having a positive attitude will make the road easy and atleast once believe in your capabilities rather accomplishments.

First of all bro; please quote ur city. Mr X is lucky that at least he got a job and that too at 7lac pa. There were so many first attempt clearants in cities of 2nd round of icai placements where 98pc didn't get any job; and those who got got half MR X's salary. Ya, it is unfair that Mr Y, who has lower practical exposure; got more ctc. But look now-a-days; companies prefer 1st attempt clearants as they think that's their inteliigence parameter. Somewhere they might be correct somewhere wrong. One of seniors; has got excellent exposure to all sorts of audit, direct tax, vat and little bit project financing; and he passed in 3 attempts each in pe2 and final; and his annual salary is 2.5 lac. Compared to that; MR X is lucky. I wanna stress that all dummies who pass in first attempts are not empty dibbas. If they cleverly get into non-accounting dept or non-taxation one; then they can carry on well from there on. The progress they make depends on their soft skills, tacts, interpersonal diplomacy and hard work. What icai says that all dummy CAs get kicked out of industry is utterly false. For Mr X; he needn't worry. As he has got proper practical exposure; he can work for a couple of years to add to his resume; then join some big MNC accounting, consultancy firm. I still feel mr x is still lucky. I am posting some links of caclubindia which came in march 2010. /forum/ahmedabad-placement-2010-worst-ever-students-saad-75703.asp /forum/ahmedabad-ca-placements-disappointed-75446.asp

Good Packages are a function of not only marks, degrees, attempts etc but there is more beyond it.

I have mentioned in details about it on my blog, see -

Companies should look at the work experiance instead of number of attempts...... If you exclude rankers, i can bet on it that there more number of smarter people in multiple attempts than in 1st attempts...... I mean a person with 230 in both group (3rd attempt) is far better than a person 200 in both groups (1st attempt)...... There was 1 MNC who had called only top 10 rankers for interview..... They asked very simple Question..... Why alphabets "A E I O U" are called vovels.....? only 2 could answer it and rest 8 rankers failed to answer......

Hello friends,

I think it is the new trend in CA industry now that companies are counting the no of attempts during campus placement.

The same has happened with ma friend too.He has cleared his both group of final in 2nd attempt..While he appeared for a interview the first question was....!!did u clear ur qualification in First attempt?

The thing which was to b noticed was his experience..He had done no of Audits solely during his internship...But that doest matter to the companies at all...

being humble,its a stupid question....

firstly,u r measuring success in relation to ctc/salary which is very narrow tought..

secondly, its a wrong tought that, jus because mr.x had undergone training ..doesnt need to be hes worthy...i saw many guys, who learn nothing in the name of articleship n other set of guys, who pass exams n learn all quickly....experience doesnt mean..."no. of years"...."amount of work n quality of work done matters".....tats wat exp is to me....

thirdly, lets think i am contradiciting facts,n ur correct.....attempts matter for initial job only.....companies hav to depend upon something to differentiate candidates ...n in an interview the only way is to by knwoing the no of attepmts..ya,it may be wrong..but out of no option they do it....n further, its only mettle n knowledge tht matters n no one bothers if u r a rank holder or repeater for 10 times....or more....

decide ur self based upon all facts...
