I availed a home loan in April 17. The repayment started in May 17 though a minimal amount is still available in the loan account.
The construction of flat will be completed only in May 18.
Pl. clarify whether I can get deduction of principal portion of EMI being paid from May 17 to Mar 18 u/s 80 C and claim 1/5 th of preconstruction interest u/s 24.

No. The benefit u/s. 80C not available for an under construction property.
as said by dhirajlal sir 80 C is not available....however you can claim preconstruction for 5 consecutive years after construction flat and further interest paid also up to rs 2 lakhs.....all together
but you can get deduction u/s 80EE
