Dear all,

Can anyone please help me in applying IEC code. I found a link in https://dgftcom.nic.in/ieconline.htm.

This enables us to apply online for IEC code and also to upload documents.

My question is once I press submit button, do I need to take print of the application and post it to concerened regional office? or only online application is sufficient.

Please help

HOW TO APPLY FOR THE ALLOTMENT OF IEC NUMBER:-

      

            A business firm should submit the following documents to the regional licensing authority having jurisdiction over the firm for the allotment of Importer-Exporter code number.

1) An application must be made in the Aayaat Niryaat Form 2A (ANF 2A) format to the Regional Authority of the (Directorate General of Foreign Trade) in the regional office of the DGFT where registered office of the company /pace of business is situated in duplicate.

2)  Bank draft for an amount of Rs.250 drawn in favour of Regional licensing authority towards the payment of fee for the allotment of IEC number.

3)Certificate from the banker of the applicant in the format given in

  Appendix 18A.

4) Part D in respect to Declaration/undertaking has to be filled in and signed by the applicant has to be submitted along with the application.

5) Profile for Exporter/Importer in the form ANF 1.

6)Three passport size photographs of the applicant. (Two of them to be duly attested by the banker of the applicant and affixed on the application form).

 

7)Prescribed declaration on the firm’s/company letterhead stating that:

 

                  I/We hereby declare that there is no non-resident interest in my/our firm/company.

                 I/We further declare that the proprietor/partner/director of my firm/company is/are not associated as proprietor/partner/director with any other firm/company which has been caution listed by the Reserve Bank of India.

                  I/We further declare that the proprietor/partner/director of my firm/company is /are not associated as proprietor/partner/director with any other firm/company which has come to the adverse notice of the DGFT.

8)In detail list of documents required for firm/company for getting IEC number.

9) Copy of the letter indicating the allotment of the Permanent Account Number of the income-tax.

10)Authority letter from the partners of the firm authorizing a partner to sign the application for allotment of IEC number in case the applicant is a partnership firm.

11)Resolution of the Board of directors authorizing one of the directors to sign the application for allotment of the IEC number in case applicant is a partnership firm.

12)Resolution of the Board of directors authorizing one of the director to sign the application for allotment of IEC number in case of a private limited or public limited company.

 

         The Regional Licensing authority shall examine the application and if it is satisfied it would allot the IEC number to the applicant.

IEC NUMBER IS LOST OR MISPLACED:-

                       Where an IEC number is lost or misplaced , issuing authority may consider requests for grant of a duplicate copy of IEC number , if accompanied by following documents:

1)    Request letter on letterhead for issue of Duplicate IEC number.

2)Application form as per Appendix 2 and 3 in duplicate.

3) Copy of IEC or IEC number.

4)Copy of FIR.

5)Affadavit on Rs.20/- stamp paper duly notorised.

6)Challan or DD of Rs.200 in favour of jt.D.G.F.T.

7)Self Addressed envelope affixed Rs.25/- postal stamp

Please look at his question. He wants to know whether there is a need for documents to be physically submitted or not.
