If I deposit Rs 5 lacs in SCSS today (before 31.3.2016) then I will get 9.3% interest p.a. But, in next year and thereafter, will I get 9.3% or less i.e., whatever Govt. notifies for that year? Are SCSS and SCDS different schemes? Please also guide if there is any Govt. scheme other than FDs where interest rates will are locked till maturity. Thanks. machineindia@gmail.com

sir,query is regarding NPS Rs50000 excemption under sec 80 ccd1(b). Have made a contibution of Rs 150000 in PPF Since employed after 2004 so compulsary deduction in NPS also taking place from my salary amounting to around 50000 per annum ...Now am i eligible for savings worth Rs 200000 or i have to make additional Rs 50000 contribution in NPS over and above the compulsary deduction already taken place to take benefit of Rs 2 lakh savings

I have one query regarding Mvat on freight. For Example, A,a mumbai based dealer, Purchase goods as OMS. Some of these goods are given as gift. Invoice raised of these gifted goods bears only freight charges. Vat is charged on freight @5% whereas the goods come under the 12.5% schedule. Please clarify on what rate should VAT be charged on such freight ?? should it be equal to the charge on the goods or 5% is ok ??
