I am a practicing CA based in Kolkata. I am in practice since 1986.Presently I am partner of Ray & Ray. I look after direct tax matters of our client.I can respond to queries on direct tax from CAs and CA students.

Sir, One my client has deducted TDS for the F.Y 2009-10. and paid on 31-03-2012. the ao has passed order by adding payments for not paying within stipulated time. The receipients of the payments have not claimed the TDS paid by the assessee. Sir,now can we get relief by stating that the receivers of the payments made by the assessee has filed their ROI by showing as receipts made by the assessee and also they have paid the taxes on that income. Sir, I have query regarding Capital Gain exemption u/s 54f which are as follow:- 1. whether two assessee jointly invest in house property, whther they both can claim exemption u/s 54f in their individual return on proportionate basis? -
