Hi!

I am Sanjay Gupta from "City of Joy - Kolkata". I have completed ICWA, M.Com, CS, DIM and currently pursuing MBA. Presently i am working for Hindustan Aeronautics Limited, Barrackpore Division as a Dy. Manager (Finance). Prior to this, for last 3 years i worked for "West Bengal Industrial Development Corporation Ltd" as Officer On Special Duty and before that for 3.5 years i worked for "Jekay Group of Companies" as Manager (F & A).

I am a part of caclubindia Family to share whatever knowledge i have and also to enhance my own knowledge. We all learn something everyday, because education never ends be it in school, college, institutions or in Journey of Life.

My query is in the chapter "VALUATION OF BUSINESS". if you need to value the business there are so many altenatives by which you can find out the value of your business. Historical cost basis Economic value Current cost basis Earning basis. So my question is goodwill is considered i.e. goodwill is added in historical cost of all the net assets if you need to value on historical cost basis. while it is not done in other methods why??

Sir, I am CA Final Student . i want you to pleae solve my doubt about excise act. I want to know that Is Cenvat Credit available on alcohol sold to potables or not. potables here means that Alcohol Manufacturer is not selling product to Market but it is selling to other sellers. Please help me in this regards. Thank you.
