Section 80D: Tax Benefits on Health Insurance Premiums

Quick Summary
Section 80D of India's Income Tax Act allows individuals and HUFs to claim deductions on health insurance premiums, reducing taxable income. The benefit covers policies for self, spouse, children, and parents, with specific deduction limits based on age. Premiums must be paid via non-cash modes, and a sub-limit applies to preventive health check-ups.
