Well, before you invest your hard-earned cash in Mutual Funds, make sure you tick off this checklist first.

Considerations to make before investing in Mutual Funds

1) Figure out what your objective is and invest in a mutual fund that meets that objective. There are different types of Mutual Funds, so do your research before investing. For example, if you want to save on taxes and you're a salaried person, check out ELSS funds.

2) Next up, check for the CRISIL rating. While this shouldn't be the sole deciding factor, it's still worth considering as mutual funds are ranked from 1 to 5 based on their performance.

3) Research the Fund Manager's experience, knowledge, and track record. The fund manager's decisions have a significant impact on the fund's performance, which ultimately determines the returns.

4) Examine the mutual fund's past returns and track record. While past returns do not guarantee future returns, they should be taken into account before investing. Ensure that the fund has consistently delivered good returns.

5) Compare the mutual fund's returns with the Index to understand its correlation and beta with the market. If the fund's beta is too high, think twice before investing.

6) Last but not least, research the fund's track record and ensure that it has a good history of making payments to investors. With lots of options to choose from, why settle for a fund that can't keep its promises?
