A Spark Ignited
Back in my 9th standard, the world of accounts, tax, costing, and finance intrigued me. Inspired by two accomplished brothers in my neighborhood who had become CAs, I became determined to follow in their footsteps. Little did I know then that this decision would shape my entire future.
The Adventurous Path
From entrance exams to IPCC, articleship, and CA finals, my journey was anything but ordinary. Each step brought new challenges and opportunities for growth. However, I consider the day I committed myself to become a CA as the most daring and adventurous moment of all.
Learning the Ropes
During my articleship at V J Shah & Co, I immersed myself in various fields, ranging from direct and indirect tax to internal and tax audits. I eagerly absorbed knowledge and explored every aspect of the profession. My dedication was recognized when I was awarded the Best Article Assistant, which motivated me to push further.
Embracing Technology
Alongside my articleship, I embarked on a parallel journey as a blogger. Writing became an outlet for me to share my knowledge, experiences, and insights with others. It was a way to connect with fellow professionals and provide them with valuable information.
Being tech-savvy, I explored how professionals like us can leverage technology to our advantage. It became evident that embracing technology was crucial for us to compete with global giants like the Big 4 firms. This realization has led me to encourage every professional to learn about future technologies like AI.
Navigating Failure and Finding Balance
Despite my hard work, I faced multiple failures in the CA Final exams. While I obtained exemptions in a few papers, I couldn't clear the final hurdle. These setbacks opened my eyes to the importance of spirituality.
Through practices like yoga, a 10-day Vipassana retreat, and reading the Bhagavad Gita, I discovered the flaws in my CA Final exams approach - lack of proper planning, smartphone addiction, overeating, and overestimating my capabilities.
A Turning Point Amidst Chaos
Determined to give my final attempt in May 2020, fate had a different plan. The world was hit by the COVID-19 pandemic, and a nationwide lockdown disrupted everything. This unexpected turn of events became a catalyst for significant changes in my life.
Establishing myself as Freelancer
During the lockdown, I founded Wizard Financial Solutions, my freelance accounts, tax, and finance enterprise. It was a leap of faith, but I realized that I had the skills and expertise to provide valuable services independently. This venture allowed me to serve clients while exploring new avenues for personal and professional growth.
Joining the Family Legacy
Simultaneously, I also had the privilege of joining my father's business, Chemi Filters (India), which specializes in industrial tailoring and fabricator of Filter Bags. It has been a transformative two years, where I've been able to learn the ins and outs of my father's business, while also leveraging my CA studies to gain a deeper understanding of its financial aspects. It was a challenging yet fulfilling experience, deepening my understanding of entrepreneurship.
Expanding Horizons
Now, my aim is to propel my father's business to new heights by exploring marketing and sales strategies. Although I lack confidence initially, I am determined to acquire the necessary skills and knowledge. With each passing day, I grow as an individual and a businessman, ready to conquer new challenges.
The Unfinished Dream
Despite the twists and turns, I believe in giving myself one more chance to conquer the CA Final exams. The November 2023 exams await me, and I am ready to face them head-on. There is still a long road ahead, encompassing personal milestones, such as starting a family, leading a fulfilling life, and perhaps even writing a book or creating an inspirational web series that shares my story.
