FCM on GTA Services

Quick Summary
As of 18th July 2022, Goods Transport Agencies (GTAs) have the option to pay GST under the forward charge mechanism. This change, recommended by the 47th GST council, requires GTAs to make a declaration in Annexure V with their jurisdictional GST authority. For the financial year 2022-23, this declaration must be submitted by 16th August 2022, and by 15th March of the preceding financial year for subsequent years. GTAs opting for forward charge must include a specific declaration on their invoices, which means the recipient will not need to pay GST under the reverse charge mechanism.
