The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) recently organised a 'Super Mega Career Counselling Programme' on a Pan-India basis. This initiative aimed to promote commerce education, particularly the CA course, among students from Class IX through to graduation. The programme saw participation from approximately 1.3 lakh students, along with educators and career counsellors, across 85 branches nationwide.

The committee was formed with the objective of promoting commerce education, with a special focus on the CA course, among secondary, senior/higher secondary, and graduate/postgraduate students, as well as other stakeholders in India and abroad.
This year, the Committee on Career Counselling has organised 1242 career counselling programmes and counselled 4 lakh students across the country.
The Super Mega Career Counselling Programme was organised on a Pan-India basis, with approximately 1.3 lakh students participating, alongside principals, teachers, and career counsellors. It was organised by 85 branches, including four Regional Councils.
Students from Class IX to Graduation were targeted by the programme to help them make the best career decisions for their future.
The President of ICAI highlighted that it is the second-largest accounting body in the world, with a network of 166 branches in India, 44 overseas chapters, and 33 representative offices in 47 countries. He also mentioned over 3.58 lakh members and around 7.76 lakh active students.
The Director of the Directorate of Education (Delhi) highlighted the growing demand for commerce education and Chartered Accountants in the economy, noting their diversified roles and appreciating ICAI's initiative in providing career guidance.
