The pre-Budget consultation meetings for Union Budget 2023-24 were held virtually from 21st to 28th November 2022.
More than 110 invitees representing 7 stakeholder groups participated in the meetings.
Suggestions included mechanisms for green certification for MSMEs, urban employment programmes, income tax rationalisation, schemes for domestic supply chains, EV tax reductions, and measures to promote India as a Green Hydrogen hub.
Union Ministers of State for Finance, the Finance Secretary, Secretary of DEA, Chief Economic Advisor, and other senior officers from the Ministry of Finance were present.
The Finance Minister thanked the participants and assured that their suggestions would be carefully considered while preparing the Budget 2023-24.
