COVID-19: ICAI allows employees to work from home

Sub: Preventive measures to be taken to contain the spread of Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19)

In continuation of the circular dated 20th March 2020 addressed to all heads of departments/secretaries to the committees/regional heads regarding preventive measures to be taken to contain the spread of Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19), it is hereby decided to maintain social distancing by restriction on all possible movements of the employees including those engaged in branches and regional councils on Pan India basis by allowing them to work from home till 31st March 2020 with immediate effect except on need basis for the employees engaged in any essential/emergent activity at head office or regional level for which undersigned will intimate them separately. Such employees attending the offices should take proper precautions at an individual level as well and avoid public transport for commutation to and fro from office. Further, the HODs are authorised to condone late coming of such employees during this period to avoid hardships to the employees in attending the office physically.

All the employees shall remain available over phone and electronic means of communication during this period in view of these special circumstances and any non-compliance of same would be viewed seriously. Further, they should attend office, if called for any exigency of work.
