The theme for International Customs Day 2022, set by the World Customs Organisation, was "Scaling up Customs Digital Transformation by Embracing a Data Culture and Building a Data Ecosystem".
Union Minister for Finance & Corporate Affairs Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman and Union Minister of State for Finance Shri Pankaj Chaudhary congratulated the CBIC.
19 officers of the CBIC and 1 person from the private sector were awarded the WCO Certificate of Merit in recognition of their contributions.
Field formations organised outreach events, virtual interactive sessions, panel discussions, online quiz competitions, and inaugurated a modernized Turant Suvidha Kendra, along with local celebrations.
The Chairman urged officers to focus on better service delivery, enhance predictability and transparency, and become active users of automated systems to provide feedback for strengthening the data culture.
