The Cabinet has approved the development of trunk infrastructure for industrial areas in Krishnapatnam (Andhra Pradesh) and Tumakuru (Karnataka), as well as a Multi Modal Logistics Hub and Transport Hub in Greater Noida (Uttar Pradesh).
The total estimated cost for all approved proposals is Rs. 7,725 crore.
An estimated employment generation of more than 2.8 lakh persons is expected from these projects.
The main objective is to attract manufacturing investments by providing quality, reliable, sustainable, and resilient infrastructure, positioning India strongly in Global Value Chains and supporting 'Aatmanirbhar Bharat' and 'Make in India'.
The Krishnapatnam Industrial Area in Andhra Pradesh and the Tumakuru Industrial Area in Karnataka are being developed under the CBIC.
The Greater Noida projects include a Multi Modal Logistics Hub for efficient goods storage and transitioning, and a Multi Modal Transport Hub offering seamless rail, road, and MRTS connectivity for passengers, along with commercial and retail spaces.
