Tax Treatment on paying rent for Car Parking Space

Hi,

I am owning a flat. Paying EMI.

I also rented car parking space and paying the rent on monthly basis. Is the rent paid for the same can be claomed for tax benifit under any section? Please guide. Thank you.

No. Not eligible, unless you be getting any such perks from your employer, or have any income u/h. PGBP.

If you are a business owner / professional and can show that car is purchased for the purpose of business and ancillary expenses are made wholly and exclusively for the purpose of business/ profession, you may be able to claim expense. Claim has to be substantiated on facts in case of query.
