A very simple but cnfusing puzzle.
A lady buys goods worth rs.200 from a shop. (shopkeeper selling the goods with zero profit).
The lady givs him 1000 rs note. The shopkeepr gets the change from the next shop and keeps 200 for himself and returns rs.800 to d lady.
Later the shopkeepr of the next shop comes with the 1000rs note saying "duplicate" and takes his money back.
How much LOSS did the shopkeepr face?
it is total thousand two hundred rupees
loss of 1200 i.e
Rs1000 note and
rs 200 good
loss of 1200
SHOPKEEPER GIVES 800 TO WOMAN,
HE SOLD GOODS OF RS 200 TO WOMAN
AND ALSO RETURN RS 1000 TO NEXT SHOP DUE TO DUPLICATE NOTE.
SO HE FACED LOSS OF RS 2000.00
Loss to Shopkeeper is only 1000.00.
1200......................................................................
200+1000+800=2000

Agreed with bharat completely
since the profit margin is not mentioned the 200 bucks shouldnt be taken into consideration.
There fore only 1000 rupees loss is accountable for the shopkeeper
Loss is Rs. 800
