Being alone, we sometimes feel is the worst thing in the world..
It's definitely not, when we try having a look at its positive side..
There are innumerous activities which we can do when alone..
In fact, these are activities that require us to be alone..
"Self Talk" is one such thing..
Most of us constantly feel the need to have someone to talk to..
This need of having someone around makes us feel bored and lonely..
We tend to get sad and irritated..
Also, there is no guarantee of having the same person always around whom we like talking to the most..
There are ways by which we can utilize this alone time..
This alone time can be converted to 'Me Time' with a Self Talk..
Question is what is ‘Self Talk'
Self Talk is analyzing you by talking to none but you..
It takes no money..
No far away places to go..
It just requires a corner and some peace of mind..
Interesting is, Self Talk does by itself give peace of mind when done in a positive manner..
It is screening of your actions and reactions to various situations..
Knowing the rights and wrongs within you and evaluating the reasons for the same..
It is understanding what makes you happy or sad and the "why's" behind it..
Not more than 10 minutes a day is all that what's required..
There are these simple questions you need to ask yourself during 'Self Talk'..
What did you do the entire day..
Was it worth..
If yes, a reason to be happy..
If not, what then made you do those things..
Thinking of that one thing which made you really happy and one which made you sad..
If there was no such thing which made you happy, the reason behind..
Were you too busy or were you too absent-minded and hence you cannot remember one..
What better could you have done that could have possibly saved your time and energy..
Most of us run behind understanding what others do..
But for understanding others, it is of utmost importance to understand ourselves..
During Self Talk..
If you have a goal, write it down and display it at a place that you pass by often.. May be on the wardrobe or your bedroom wall.. so it will constantly be there on your mind and you will feel like doing what it needs to reach that goal..
If you have a hobby, pursue it..
If someone did wrong to you, try to forgive them the very same day..
Don't carry that mental drain along until the next day as sadness is said to create the same kind of chemical reaction in brain that is caused when faced with an injury..
No matter how bad your day was, be grateful for everything you have..
Be thankful..
Now again, being thankful doesn't mean that you need to go to each and everything and person and say thanks for the help..
It's just being thankful and knowing the value of that what you have got..
Always write down one interesting thing that happened to you..
Write down your plans for tomorrow..
Keep a short term plan handy..
Most importantly, do this regularly..
People travel miles for this Alone Time..
What for, for knowing themselves better.. for the 'Me Time'..
No one across the world can convince you better than you yourself..
Through positive Self Talk, you can know you better and undoubtedly there is always more to you than you already know and Self Talk can help you discover you..
So many "You's" because Self Talk is all about You..
Gift yourself these 10 minutes each day and get to know you..
Irrespective of how talkative or quiet a person is.. Self Talk is something which everyone needs..
The reason being, there is always hiding about you from the world.. but there is no hiding about you from you..
