If you want to make the payment of demand, then you can do so online by logging into your account in the Income Tax Site. Pay only the amount stated in the demand and take a print of the acknowledgement of the payment done.

Thereafter, you can write a letter as a reply to the demand notice stating the fact that payment has been done and that of receipt of the demand on the due date. Attach the print out of acknowledgement as aforementioned as a proof of having made the payment and copy of envelope in which the demand was received by you stating the date of receipt of the same. Stating these, you can request for consideration of the same and not adjust against the subsequent refunds.

You can also opt for not paying the same and wait for the amount to be adjusted against your refunds. This will also be convenient.
