Does institute really verify the ANSWER SHEETS

I think Yes.

One of my friends got cleared in PE-II and got 6 marks increased in 2nd group.

So don't leave any chance.

One of my freind got exemption in the paper of Financial Management (CA Final First Group) of May 2009 attempt because of re-verfication of marks.

yes the institute verifies the answer books.

only the marks given & total of marks are verified by the institute
