After filling the form for two groups. If I sit for all the papers in group 1. and just for one paper in group two and try to get an exemption in that one paper. can i do this?

i mean..do i have to be present in all the other papers as well??

or just being present in one and clearing it would matter?

yes swati u need to appear in all d papers for claiming an exemption in even a single paper..!!

There is a clear instruction in "Notes for information and guidance of applicants" which was provided with the Examination Form that the exemption will be granted only when a candidate is present in all the papers of the Group / unit.

[See page no. [6], point no. (8) (e) ] - Notes for information and guidance of applicants]

Okay...Thanx for the replies.

But can i do this?

be present in all the papers. That is just give the attendance. and dont write anything in those papers. (hoping that i would not get an absent, but "0" mark) and appear in the one in which i want to and avail an exemption?

ya this is possible but why you depromote urself jus give a try in all papers u will definitely suceed

sit it all the papers.. it happened with me in may10 attempt... i got chicken pox just after giving accounts bt gave law n costing in high fever.. bt cudnt give tax. i got 69 in a/c bt they did nt give me xemption coz i had not attemped all papers... my dad even visited the noida BOS office.. they refused... thay giv u xemption even if  leave ur paper blank n jst give the attendance... dont make the same blunder as me.. i had cleared all the 3 papers i had appeared for bt coz of tax i had to give in november again..mine wasnt a blunder tho.wasnt my mistake...

@ ahana...thanks for ur reply..

but could yu jus clarify another thing..

the word is papered in all papers of a group...for geting an exemption in one paper...

does dat mean only attendance in the other papers...or it means i got to actually write the exam off all the papers of a group...

@ Swati....

As per my knowledge for claiming an exemption u have to sit in all d papers of a grp... scoring minimum 25 marks in each paper....

U shud make a query in this regard to borad of studies....

swati u need to write all the papers of that group in which u want exepmtion... wat sum of my frnds had done was dat they prepared properly for the 1st group n in the 2nd grop thay prepapred for advanced a/c nly to claim exemption.. bt they jst appeared for audit n ITSM .. as in they read 1 day b4 n watever hay wer able to retain n watever thay retained from the coahing class.. they put in on the paper... even i did this 4 the 2nd group in my novrmber attempt.. bt i had prepared for ITSM 4 xemption.. bt alas i got stuk at 59..n failed in audit so i have my may attempt now

so my advice... if u gv both groups atleast write watever u knw.. even if that is a single line in the answer sheet... bt prepapre thouroughly for that single paper that u wanted to give in 2nd group... leave no loose ends... bt if u r doubting that it wud b difficult to get exmtion for that 1 paper 2(that wd depend on how mch u already r prepared.) then OPT OUT  for the whole 2nd group instead n concentrate fully on the 1st group so that ur time is not divided.. its ur choice now...
